Helloooo!
Some updates from me <3
Hi my lil bb’s!
How you doin’ this week? Tell me in the comments!
I’m solid. I write you this note on my way home from my first trip of my 2026 tour. Kicked it off on Tuesday in Los Angeles for the Netflix Is A Joke Festival and on Wednesday in Vancouver at the lovely Vogue Theater, and it was so damn fun. I co-headlined the Netflix show with Ramy Youssef, my long-time friend, so even though it was this like, ~industry event~ it felt like the olden days. He was so funny and good — had like 30 new minutes after he *just* released his new hour on HBO. Like, okay bish chill. His latest special is called “In Love” — be sure to check it out. And Vancouver? Fucking lit. The vibe there is just real. The city’s full of stoners, has all different kinds of people in it, and they were such good laughers. We were really cracking up together, to be honest. Canada is just softer than the US because of their lack of fascism; it feels good on the central nervous system. I was at the airport this morning, and there was like, this sweet attendant leading people to the security line, and explaining what their experience going through security will look like; totally unnecessary, but just nice. Not rushing, not barking atcha. I was like, “This is revolutionary.” But no, they just have their basic needs a lil bit more met, and that makes shit just make sense.
Speaking of which!!! Oh my goodness, y’all. My dream came true this week with my dream guest for my video-podcast IT’S OPEN with Ilana Glazer… Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. A-O-mothafuckin-C. My dream. I had never met her before. I admire her so much. Ya know, people think it’s scary to go on stage and do standup, but I’d be way more scared to stand before Congress and fight for my fellow Americans’ basic human rights. I feel like I’d cry all the time. It’s just so emotional, that performance; the stakes are the realest! I feel comfortable speaking up like that as an artist, but actually being in government? During an attempted fascist takeover? Damn. And yet, she does it day in and day out with grace. She’s clear-eyed, and you get a real sense of what this person feels and thinks when you watch her communicate so effectively on social media. But then in person... she was luminous; she was just who I felt she’d be. Our conversation was personal and human and my privilege to hold. Last but not least: Moms & Neighbors for Safe & Fair U.S. Midterm Elections 2026. I’m working on this new campaign to get Americans inspired & prepared to protect the polls this November, for the Midterms. Y’all, we don’t know WHAT is gonna happen, and you know the people in power have been scheming for a long time to conserve and consolidate that power against The People. But this year, we’ve seen, in the most visceral & urgent terms (I’m lookin’ at you, Minnesota), women, moms & neighbors organizing their communities to protect one another. Americans, no matter what their race, faith, gender expression, income status, or location, deserve to vote safely and to have their vote counted fairly. I’m telling you I’m less and less of a “Democrat” these days and more of a Mom. More of a Neighbor. Change happens in your neighborhood, in your community, at the kitchen table, in public spaces. We’re in such a divisive moment right now, but one day, we’ll look back, and see this hard moment in our nation’s history, and we’ll see it as the key that unlocked the full potential of what it means to be a part of the United States of America. It’s our 250th year, for Christ’s sake! Let’s make it mean that we care for each other. So...

Lil reminder to make a lil space to take pleasure in being you today,
Ilana

Thanks for writing in such a cool candid way. My closest friend and I are obsessed with Broad City and the first time I saw you live I had to buy an XXXL shirt because it was the only one left where you were sticking your butt out on it. Haha. I wear that big ass shirt all the time. Love how your writing sounds like hearing from a friend.
excited to see you in atlanta on tuesday!!!
